Abstract
The performance of every incandescent lamp is intimately related to the geometrical aspects of its filament. The work reported herein is aimed at improving the understanding of the basic relationships between the filament parameters and lamp performance. Special experimental lamps were constructed to study the electrical, thermal, and luminous properties of coiled coil filaments as functions of coil geometry and filament temperature.
