Abstract
The purpose of our analysis was to define optimum system and lamp parameters for an efficient T8 fluorescent system. A computer model was constructed to completely define the operating parameters for various lamp/ballast combinations. The resulting model will be helpful to lamp design engineers as a means of predicting the performance of any lamp type on a particular ballast circuit. Actual data obtained from lamps of various gas compositions along with the specifics of the model are included.
