Vertical Illuminance as a Criterion for Energy-Effective Tunnel Lighting Design

Abstract

The authors' experiments and measurements support the conclusion that lighting geometrics which favor vertical illuminance will result in enhancement of the effective visibility conditions for detection of foreign objects with considerably lower energy requirements when compared to the presently recommended design practice.

Lea expériences et déterminatione effectuées par les auteurs renforcent la conclusion que la géométrie de l'éclairage qui favorise l'éclairement vertical aura pour résultat l'smélioration des conditions de visibilité effience pour la détection des objets étrangers avec das besoine énergétiques considérablement inférieurs par rapport à la pratique de design qui est recommandée à l'heure actuelle.

Los experimentos y mediciones de los autores apoyan la conclusión de que las consideraciones geométricas que favorecen la iluminancia resultarán en un realce de las condiciones de visibilidad efectiva para detectar objetos extraños, con requisitos energéticos considerablemente más bajos cuando se lo compara con la norma de diseño recomendada en la actualidad.
