Abstract
This paper presents an alternative, and much more accurate, method for using configuration factors to find the illuminance at a point due to a strip source. The method consists of finding the configuration factor of the strip source directly, rather than as the difference of the configuration factors of two rectangles. A table of configuration factors as a function of room cavity ratio and location of the point within the space is presented.
