Thermal Balance of HID Electrodes

Abstract

A model for the average tip temperatures during the cathode and anode half cycles of a HID mercury lamp is discussed. The input parameters are the current, the thermionic work function and the thermal resistance of the electrode from the tip to the wall. The model is compared to electrical and thermal measurements on a 50 Watt mercury lamp.

On envisage un modèle de température moyenne d'extrémité durant les demi-cycles anode et cathode d'une lampe au mercure HID. Les paramètres d'entrée sont intensité, fonction de travail thermionique et résistance thermique de l'électrode du bout à la paroi. On compare le modèle aux données électriques et thermiques mesurées sur une lampe au mercure de 50 watts.

Se discute un modelo de temperatura media de extremidad durante los semiciclos ánodo y cátodo de una lámpara de mercurio HID. Los parámetros de entrada son el amperaje, la función del trabajo termoiónico y la resistencia térmica del electrodo desde la extremidad a la pared. Se compara el modelo con los datos eléctricos y térmicos medidos sobre una lámapara de mercurio de 50 vatios.
