Abstract

Four species of Fusarium were isolated from diseased lentil plants found in patches within commercial lentil crops in the South Island of New Zealand. Of the four species isolated, F. avenaceum (Fr.) Sacco was shown to be highly pathogenic to lentil and pea in glasshouse experiments. The symptoms produced on lentil in glasshouse experiments were similar to those observed in the field.
