Abstract
Development of satellite technology and the speedy transfer of information from one continent to the other has aroused fears of cultural imperialism, the possibility of one nation imposing its ideology on another nation because of its advancement in telecommunications delivery capability. H. Rex Lee feels that this capability must be viewed and used positively to exchange information and promote understanding. It is now the responsibility of social scientists, he says, to see that there is a careful balance between supplying the needs of all people for information and education and the preservation of the cultural values of the society.
