Abstract
India and China — the two giants of Asia — share common attributes of a large population, a huge rural hinterland and a commitment for development. Yet with different political, economic and social structures they are approaching development in different ways. One area is in the flow of scientific and technological information as inputs to the development process. A comparative study in the way both countries approach this problem may be mutually beneficial. Other developing countries may also find some lessons from their experiences.
