Abstract
At the invitation of the National Council of Papua Nuigini in December 1980, the author of this article ran a two-week audio-visual workshop in the School Belong Wakim Pisksa (Film and Television School) in Goroka, Papua Nuigini. The school was formed with the aim of developing contacts with the rural community. With no TV in the country, and the students never having had any contact with film, the project was regarded as an experiment. The following is Michel Bongiovanni’s account of the workshop programme and his experiences.
