Abstract
Empirical and theoretical research into the diffusion of innovations and information transmittal have far-reaching implications for developing countries. How people perceive new information and new technology, and whether they accept and adopt these, may ultimately decide whether development efforts — to raise national consciousness, productivity or to promote new working methods — will work. Any new light shed on the way Man behaves in his social milieu is, therefore, to be welcomed.
