Abstract
Although mass media is looked upon with great reservation by most health officials, mass communications recently demonstrated its effectiveness in promoting public health in Bombay.
Public response to these campaigns has exceeded all expectations and a valuable spin-off is the funding support from private and commercial enterprises.
