Abstract
This study attempts to analyze the information sector and estimate its contribution to the industrial sector in a developing country. In particular, factors that could bring about the information age in Korea are a general concern of the study.

Dr Chang Seek Lee is a part-time instructor in the Department of Agricultural and Extension, College of Agriculture, Seoul National University, Korea. He holds a PhD in Development Communication from the University of the Philippines, Los Banos.

Dr Ely D. Gomez is Professor and Director, Institute of Development Communication, College of Agriculture, University of the Philippines, Los Banos. She was a visiting professor at Seoul National University in 1990.
