Abstract

I had a vision in which I was holding all the medical photographs taken of me over the last forty years: illustrating my case from initial diagnosis of a sarcoma of the left maxilla to the present day; highlighting the triumphs and the tribulations. That vision faded into obscurity when I read the letter from yet another hospital informing me that all the photographs in my case‐notes had been destroyed.
