Abstract
Three homologous thiobenzoates series which exhibit ferroelectric smectic C* phases have been synthesized. Some of them display this phase at low temperature. Several mixtures have been investigated in order to obtain room temperature SC* phase. A comparison between these series and the well known benzoates series is given.
