Abstract
The influence of steric repulsive interactions between nematogen molecules on the rotational dynamics is considered within the frame of Nordio-Riggatti-Segre theory. The contribution of steric effects to the nematic potential is estimated from the Flory lattice model. Numerical results suggest a significant contribution of steric interactions to the rotational diffusion anisotropy.
