Abstract
Experimental data are reported on phase transitions of N-(p-butoxybenzylidene)-p-propylaniline (40.3) using the techniques of differential scanning calorimetry and positron annihilation. These data reveal the existence of metastable solid phases in 40.3 which has been fast cooled from the nematic.
