Abstract
The Raman and infrared spectra of trirubidium hydrogen disulfate Rb3H(SO4)2 between 430 and 100 K have been recorded in the range 4000-30 cm-1. The lattice region shows very narrow bands characteristic of an ordered compound. No phase transitions have been observed in the range 400-100 K. The hydrogen bond OH…O linking sulfate ions into dimers is discussed on the basis of OH group frequencies and of ν1(SO 2/4- band splittings.
