Abstract
This short paper describes some basic features of the magnetic field-induced series of phase transitions in quasi-1D conductors and of their theoretical description. In Bechgaard salts, the nature of the CDW and SD W ordering is changed because of the quantization of electronic motion. A cascade of subphases results with quantization of the Hall effect. The main lines of the Quantized Nesting model which describes this field-induced phase diagram are given. More experimental and theoretical works are quoted in the references.
