Abstract
Ferric acetylacetonate Fe(ac. ac)3 was prepared by the reaction of ferric chloride with acetylacetone in ethanolic solution. Vergin and various samples preheated at 170, 220 and 330°C were carefully obtained. X-ray diffraction, IR absorption spectra, scanning electron microscopy and differential thermal analysis (DTA) were done for all samples. The temperature dependence of the electrical and dielectric properties of selective batches of Fe(ac. ac) phases and intermediates were evaluated.
The results obtained are discussed on the basis of induced lattice imperfections which may lead to phase change and change in the degree of crystallinity, polythermochromism is established herein for the first time.
