Cathedrals through the whole curriculum: a contribution to spirituality

Visits to cathedrals as educational resources are increasing, but the motivation is often a desire to fulfil particular National Curriculum objectives and this often leads to a concentration on one aspect of the building. The author argues that it is necessary to approach a cathedral in its totality if its purpose as a spiritual building is to be understood.

Anton Muller

Anton Muller was Education Officer and Head of Visits at Rochester Cathedral from 1988 to 1993. He was formerly a specialist in Religious Education and Social Science Coordinator at Thornhill School in Sunderland. He is now Education and Training Officer for the Church Missionary Society.
