Studies of the local release factors at a structure phase transition for Mn²⁺ in RbCaF₃ and RbCdF₃ crystals

Abstract

The local release factors k, which denote the release effect of the impurity-ligand bond along the C₄ axis at the cubic-to-tetragonal phase transition, are studied for Mn²⁺ ion in RbCaF₃ and RbCdF₃ crystals by analysing the magnetic resonance data. The results show that, similar to the local order parameters Ø at the same |T – T _c|, the local release factors k for both doped crystals are close to each other, but they are different from the intrinsic release factors in the corresponding host crystals.
