Abstract

Mössbauer spectroscopy has been used as a powerful technique to study the segregation of 121Sb as a dilute impurity in iron-based alloys containing transition elements. Nickel strongly enhances segregation-an hexagonal (Ni55-x Fe x )Sb45 compound is formed-whereas chromium is ineffective.
