Abstract

Mössbauer spectroscopy has been used as a powerful technique to study the segregation of ¹²¹Sb as a dilute impurity in iron-based alloys containing transition elements. Nickel strongly enhances segregation-an hexagonal (Ni_55-xFe_x)Sb₄₅ compound is formed-whereas chromium is ineffective.
