Abstract

High-resolution electron microscopy and selected area electron-diffraction techniques are used to study the intergrowth structures of σ-related phases (σ, H) and the μ phase in an iron-base superalloy. Structural models are proposed to interpret these boundary structures. Microtwin bands and planar faults in these phases and their effect on the interphase boundary are also studied.
