Abstract

The modified electrostatic model of impurity diffusion, developed in the preceding paper, is applied to self-diffusion in dilute alloys and to interdiffusion. The calculated enhancement factors and vacancy flow factors are compared with the respective experimental data. It can be demonstrated that the results of recent electron density calculations and vacancy concentration measurements in dilute alloys are incompatible with the impurity diffusion coefficients in copper and silver.
