Abstract
The dependence of tracer self-diffusion on isostatic pressure was studied in bcc Tl in the pressure range up to 0·72 GPa. Activation volumes of (0·55 ± 0·03)ω (where ω: is the atomic volume) at 556 K and (0·45 ± 0·05)ω at 515 K were obtained. The pressure effect of the self-diffusion in β-Tl is comparable with the results previously obtained for the alkali metals Na and K.
