Abstract
Stress-induced crossover effect near the Curie point of nickel II. Theory and discussion
In this paper we investigate how far the experimental results of paper I fit the theoretical predictions. The stress-induced crossover, near T c +, in the longitudinal (κ∥) and transverse (κ⊥) components of the critical fluctuations is discussed. In particular, the influence of intrinsic anisotropies which do not vanish at T c is discussed in terms of (1) stress-induced anisotropy caused by dislocations, (2) dipolar anisotropy and (3) crystal anisotropy. In addition new results covering critical neutron scattering are presented.
