Abstract
The Compton profile of polycrystalline β-SiC has been measured using 59·54 keV y-rays. The results are in qualitative agreement with existing theoretical results. The measured valence profile scaled according to the lattice momentum 2π/a was found to be very similar to those of diamond and silicon, as suggested previously.
