Abstract

Normal and silicated diamond-like carbon films on steel and silicon substrates have been investigated with a slow positron beam. A diffusion model, making allowance for different densities, was applied to Doppler-broadened spectra. Measurements reveal the nature of the films and the importance of the substrate in the production processes.
