Abstract
My Medical Education II is an invitation to look back again on my own medical education, described in this journal 25 years ago, when I was a young resident in psychiatry, six years after graduation. I reflect on my original motivation, on the frameworks for learning – and on the gross discrepancy between intended formative learning and summative examinations. The huge dropout rate at that time leads to reflections on bachelor degrees in medicine in accordance with the current Bologna Declaration. The importance of learning by role modelling in Medicine is touched upon as are the very important moments of ethical learning.
