Pages 200-202 | Published online: 03 Jul 2009

Abstract

SUMMARY The postgraduate medical education system in Britain has been rewritten and early experience with the new methods provides information for those involved in training of specialists in Europe and beyond. The new system is described and emphasis given to the value of a planned structure and educational standards, the importance of knowing the facts and the places of learning, and the urgent need to support the teachers.
