The medical curriculum in Germany is based on the licensing regulations 'Approbationsordung fur Arzte' (Approbationsordnung, 1970) resulting in a uniform curriculum in all of the country's 36 medical schools. However, the Medizinische Fakultat of the Westfalische Wilhelms-Universitat, Munster, Germany has implemented a modified medical curriculum. It aims to increase practical clinical training. The structure of the curriculum and results of this approach at Munster medical school are presented.
