Experimental investigation of heat characteristics of composite material for thermal insulation application

Pages 546-549 | Received 30 Oct 2018, Accepted 05 Dec 2018, Published online: 12 Feb 2019

ABSTRACT

Composite materials play a vital role in present industrial applications due to their positive properties when compared with the existing or conventional materials used for the same applications such as weight, strength, corrosion resistance, flexibility in design etc. In this paper, a laminate is prepared by considering three different fibres such as basalt, carbon, and glass. The order of orientation is of three different forms such as 40°, 60°, and 90°. The stacking of the fibres is of same degrees and it is subjected to two different set of tests such as failure analysis and thermal analysis. From the results obtained from these laminates, it is suggested for its best usage.
