Réseau des chenaux du Bassin d'Arcachon établi par des données Thematic Mapper acquises à haute marée

Resumé. II est interessant d'extraire des informations sous-marines d'après des données satellitaires. Nous présentons la démarche que nous avons suivie pour établir une carte du réseau des chenaux du Bassin d'Arcachon, à l'aide d'une classification non supervisée sur les donnees de Thematic Mapper (TM), bien que le passage du satellite ait eu lieu au moment o[ugrave] le bassin etait couvert d'eau.

It is interesting to extract underwater information from satellite data. We have tried to establish a drainage channel network chart of the Arcachon Basin (on the French west coast), by using unsupervised classification of LANDSAT-5 Thematic Mapper data acquired while the basin was completely covered with water. This study shows that satellite data supply information about submarine topography, making it possible to study underwater geomorphology at a certain depth with the data furnished by satellite.
