Statement of retraction: a prospective randomised trial comparing Foley catheter, oxytocin, and combination Foley catheter-oxytocin for labour induction with unfavourable cervix

This article refers to:
RETRACTED ARTICLE: A prospective randomized trial comparing Foley catheter, oxytocin, and combination Foley catheter-oxytocin for labour induction with unfavourable cervix

We, the Editor and Publisher of Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, have retracted the following article:

Nabih I. El Khouly (2017). A prospective randomised trial comparing Foley catheter, oxytocin, and combination Foley catheter-oxytocin for labour induction with unfavourable cervix, Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, 37 (3), 309-314. DOI: 10.1080/01443615.2016.1239075

Since publication, significant concerns have been raised about the validity of the statistical analysis and reliability of the reported results in the article. When approached for an explanation, the author fully cooperated with the investigation and provided responses to our queries. However, the responses provided did not sufficiently address the concerns raised and the author was unable to provide the study’s original data for review. As the published article includes inaccuracies in the statistical analysis and reporting, and the journal has been unable to evaluate the raw data, we are therefore retracting the article. The author does not agree with the retraction.

We have been informed in our decision-making by our editorial policies and COPE guidelines.

The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as ‘Retracted’.
