Tassos G. Karayiannis is a professor of thermal engineering in the School of Engineering and Design of Brunel University, where he is co-director of the Centre for Energy and Built Environment Research. He obtained a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from City University (UK) in 1981 and a PhD from the University of Western Ontario (Canada) in 1986. He has carried out research in single-phase heat transfer, enhanced heat transfer and thermal systems. He has been involved with research in two-phase flow and heat transfer for about 20 years. He is a fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and the Institute of Energy.

Michael W. Collins is a Visiting Professor in the School of Engineering and Design of Brunel University. After graduating in Engineering Science at Oxford University and three years in the nuclear industry he spent his career at City University (UK). He was awarded PhD and DSc degrees and became professor and co-director of the ThermoFluids Engineering Research Centre. His research within thermofluids has included computational studies for engineering and biomedical flows, novel optical measurement systems with their data processing, and high voltage effects. He is a Fellow of a number of professional bodies and a Member of ThermoFluids Group at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. International collaboration has involved China, Poland and Italy and recognition includes the award of the Polish Order of Merit.

Khellil Sefiane is a Reader in the School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. He has a long experience in research on multiphase flows and heat transfer topics. He holds an ExxonMobil fellowship awarded by the Royal Academy of Engineering (2000) and is a member of the EPSRC Peer Review College. He was the organizer and chairman of the 10th UK Heat Transfer conference (2007) and is a member of numerous international scientific committees. He acts on a regular basis as a referee, reviewer and consultant for many international research bodies (e.g. Canadian Space Agency, Swiss Federal Research Council).
