GUNNAR STOLLBERG is a professor at the Faculty of Sociology at Bielefeld University, Germany. His research interests are situated in the fields of medical sociology and medical anthropology.

ELISABETH HSU is Reader in Social Anthropology at the University of Oxford and Fellow of Green Templeton College. Her research focuses on conceptual and linguistic, sensorial, and emotional aspects of Chinese medicine, past and present.
