The Stamp Act protest movement arose in opposition to the Grenville Ministry's program of revenue stamps in the American colonies. Analysis of the polemic literature reveals the essential unity of claims conforming to each of Richard Weaver's bi‐polar concepts of circumstance and genus as sources of argument.
