Teaching speech communication via the case method

As concepts of interpersonal communication become more central in basic courses in speech communication, teaching via the case method also increases in importance. This essay centers on the advantages of using case studies and the criteria for creating them. Three ways of using an original case study in the classroom are illustrated.
