Nixon's man on the Watergate panel: Senator Edward Gurney of Florida

During the 1973 Senate Watergate Committee hearings, Florida Senator Edward Gurney emerged as chief supporter of President Richard Nixon, employing the rhetorical strategy of definition in his attempt to maximize impressions that the hearings were amiss and to minimize information that the President could be implicated in Watergate wrongdoing.
