Abstract
This study developed a brief pencil‐and‐paper instrument measuring student evaluations of communication courses. The original instrument consisted of 38 Likert‐type items but was reduced to 15 items through factor analysis. Both original and abbreviated instruments measure five dimensions of course evaluations: utility, difficulty, enjoyableness, organization, and intimacy. Using Nunnally's formula 6–18, all of these dimensions were found to be high in internal consistency, with reliabilities ranging from .70 to .96.
