Abstract
Carroll C. Arnold, Professor Emeritus at the Pennsylvania State University, is clearly one of the “great teachers in the speech communication classroom.” He possesses a rare combination of intelligence, skill, dedication, and compassion—the qualities we admire most in a scholar, teacher, professional, and human being. Perhaps best known for co‐authoring the popular textbook, Public Speaking As a Liberal Art, Professor Arnold embraces this liberal arts philosophy in his teaching, trying to help all students become their personal best. Dr. Arnold's own passion for learning has been contagious. He has shaped our past and will continue to shape our future.
