The Use of Reversed Phase High Performance Liquid Chromatography for the Structural Mapping of Polypeptides and Proteins

Pages 1255-1276 | Published online: 05 Dec 2006

Abstract

The application of reversed phase high performance liquid chromatogarphy (RP-HPLC) in analytical and preparative mapping of polypeptides and proteins is reviewed. Compared to conventional techniques, superior peak resolution for both hydrophilic and hydrophobic peptides can be obtained with a variety of convenient RP-HPLC methods which also offer the advantages of short elution times and good recoveries.
