Abstract

High performance liquid chromatography has been used to separate testosterone from its oxidative metabolites (7α-, 16α -and 6 β-hydroxytestosterone and androstenedione) following in vitro incubation with rat liver microsomes. The separation was accomplished in less than 18 minutes on a radially compressed C18 reverse-phase column using isocratic elution with tetra-hydrofuran: water (24/76, v/v).
