Abstract

Centrifugal Partition Chromatography has been found useful for the separation of C1 and C2, two large hydrophobic peptides resulting from the chymotryptic cleavage of the membrane protein Bacteriorhodopsin. For this purpose the biphasic system AcOH/HCOOH/H2O/CHCL3 has been studied and the role of the two main parameters, i.e. Acetic acid and Formic acid, clearly demonstrated.
