ABSTRACT

In this research, CoFe2O4-SiO2-gly-P(AA-MA) so-called CFSP was synthesized and characterized successfully. The as made adsorbent was utilized for the removal of Pb(II) and Cd(II). Different experimental conditions on the adsorption process were optimized and evaluated, respectively. In the following, adsorption isotherms and kinetics of both ion metals were studied in a batch system. The best-fitting isotherm was found to be the Langmuir with correlation coefficients (R2) of 0.9994 for Cd2+and 0.9990 for Pb2+. Also, the results revealed that the experimental data were better fitted to pseudo second-order kinetic model for both Pb2+ and Cd2+than the other studied models.
