Hard Times for Aspiring Academics

Abstract

The recent change in the supply-demand relationship foi academics will have major effects on the career options of doctoral graduates. Since there will be limited turnover of staff in Australian universities over the next 20 years, fewer doctoral graduates than in the past can expect to gain tenure-track appointments.
