Presentation to Members of Campus and Field Faculty: Adelphi University School of Social Work

Abstract

In this presentation the author reports to the members of the campus and field faculty of Adelphi University’s School of Social Work on the impact on faculty and students of the recent change in the curriculum. Along with a few other social work programs in the United States, Adelphi has developed and initiated a generic/generalist curriculum in place of structuring the program around the three discrete methods: casework, group work, and community organization. [Guest editor’s note: The date of this presentation could not be determined, but Papell’s Adelphi colleagues estimate that it was given at some time in the late 1950s or early 1960s]
