Introduction to Part Five: Teaching Social Work with Groups

 

Abstract

This article introduces Papell’s unpublished writings on teaching social work with groups. These articles discuss the impact on students and faculty of a new generic/generalist curriculum, the identification of styles of learning for social work practice, and the use of process recording in the classroom as well as the field placement. The author goes on to discuss one of Papell’s published works examining dialectical issues in social work education.
