Post-traumatic growth in the wake of a pandemic

ABSTRACT

The following narrative focuses on meaning-making amidst crisis. Through a series of groups, pre- and post-pandemic onset, the group meetings explore moments of chaos or conflict as catalysts for growth or learning. The story also hones in on the power of play and mutual aid. Themes of self-care, cancer-survivorship, and trauma are briefly explored. The author also meditates on their own experience as a social worker and the illuminating power of a good quote in their budding career.
