Abstract
Current lack of information on grandfather-granddaughter incest is discussed. The problems involved in examining any form of incest as well as the particular difficulties associated with studying grandfather-granddaughter incest are outlined. Previous reports of the problem are presented along with descriptions of sixteen instances of grandfather-granddaughter incest drawn from a research study by Courtois (1979) and a survey by Hinckley (1979). Comparisons are made between previous reports and the current sample. Patterns and dynamics involved in grandfather-granddaughter incest are discussed as are areas for further research.
